The 30th Annual Pewaukee Classic took place on May 10th. We had 90 anglers, 86 adults and 4 juniors fish the event. Six muskies were boated and released. First place was Tim Blazek with 3 fish, 35-1/2″, 34-1/2″ and 30-1/2″. 2nd place went to Rich Vono with a 35-1/2″ fish. Third place was Tony Bilgrien with a 27″ fish. There was also a 23″ fish caught and released. Five of the muskies were caught on a Slammer bait and one on a bucktail. The weather was sunny and 75 degrees with a slight westerly wind, too nice for muskie fishing. The banquet followed the day of fishing at the Sussex Bowl. An excellent hot beef and chicken buffet were served. The big raffle item, which was a Minnkota Terrova 80, was won by Don Jahncke. Chapter 35 raised about $3500 for club activities. A big “Thank You” goes out to Captain Bryan Blanke, the Pewaukee Classic Tournament Director for a successful event and to all those who participated.
